    How to Grow Your Black Oysters

    1. Setup: Fill your humidifier tank with distilled water and place the Black Oyster block inside your Lykyn Grow Chamber. Leave space in front of the block so mushrooms can grow freely, and be sure not to block the humidifier airflow.

    2. Sterilize: Flame sterilize a razor or knife and allow it to cool completely.

    3. Slice: Cut a small “X” on the side of the bag where you want the mushrooms to fruit.

    4. Select: Place the chamber top back on and choose “Black Oyster” from the Lykyn App.

    5. Relax: Your chamber automatically handles humidity and airflow—just watch your mushrooms come to life.


    When It’s Ready to Harvest

    Black Oysters are ready when:

    • The caps are mostly open but still slightly curved at the edges.

    • The color is deep gray to nearly black with a firm, full texture.

    Harvest before the caps flatten completely for the best flavor and texture.


    How to Harvest

    Gently twist and pull the entire cluster from the base, or cut cleanly with a knife. Take care not to damage the remaining block so it can produce additional flushes.


    How to Store

    • Fresh: Store in a paper bag in the refrigerator.

    • Shelf Life: 5–7 days fresh, or several months if dried or frozen.

    • Tip: Avoid sealed plastic containers, which trap moisture and reduce freshness.
