Light Placement & Mounting
- Mounting location: Place the light centrally on the top lid for uniform coverage.
- Why center matters: If positioned at the edge, only the side facing the caps receives direct light, which can lead to uneven orientation.
- Surface compatibility: It is safe to place the module directly on the polycarbonate top panel.
Cable Management (Included)
To keep the setup tidy and safe:
- Single-tier box: 3 cable clips included
- Double-tier box: 6 cable clips included
Clips route leads along the lid and walls to eliminate loose-wire clutter.
Safety & Thermal Notes
- During extended operation, the light housing can become warm. This is expected—avoid covering the module and allow normal airflow.
- Do not enclose the light in additional sleeves or fabric; keep vents unobstructed.
Smart Behavior (App)
When you select a mushroom species in the app and the control mode is set to SMART, the system automatically follows that species profile. If the selected species does not require light, the lights will not turn on.
Automated Mushroom Grow Box
The Lykyn Smart Mushroom Grow Box is an automated fruiting chamber that grows fresh culinary and medicinal mushrooms at home through a single smartphone app. It controls humidity, airflow, and lighting on a schedule tuned to each species. You drop in a colonized fruiting block, pick a preset, and watch your harvest come in over 7 to 14 days.

Each preset is dialed in for a specific species, including Lion's Mane, Pink Oyster, Blue Oyster, Yellow Oyster, Shiitake, King Trumpet, Pioppino, Reishi, Chestnut, and Maitake. The presets are stored on the device so the chamber keeps growing if your Wi-Fi drops.
