Filter Maintenance & Replacement
Keep your system running optimally with proper filter maintenance
Overview
Lykyn uses a two-stage filtration system to protect both your grow and your living space: a HEPA-grade intake filter to block external contaminants, and a reusable spore filter on the exhaust to reduce spore release indoors.
Service Interval
Replace the HEPA intake filter every 6–12 cultivation cycles, depending on use and environment. Clean the spore filter between cycles.
When to Service
- Visible dust or spore buildup on the filter surface
- Noticeably reduced airflow or slower humidity stabilization
- After heavy use or dusty environments
HEPA Intake Filter — Replacement (tool-free)
Power off the unit.
Open the intake filter cover and remove the saturated filter.
Insert a new compatible HEPA filter and close the cover.
Power on and verify normal airflow.
Spore Filter — Cleaning (reusable)
Power off the unit.
Remove the fan grill to access the spore filter.
Rinse the filter under running water until buildup is cleared.
Air-dry completely, then reinstall the filter and grill.
Good to Know
- No special tools are required; all steps can be done by hand.
- Keeping filters clean helps maintain airflow, stability, and consistent yields.
