When does the humidifier need replacing?

Typically after 18 to 24 months of continuous use, sooner if you consistently run mineral-rich tap water instead of distilled. Signs it is time: reduced mist output, uneven humidity readings in the app, or visible mineral scale on the piezoelectric disc.

Do I have to use distilled water?

Distilled or filtered water extends the humidifier lifetime substantially. Hard tap water leaves mineral scale on the piezoelectric disc that eventually kills the ultrasonic action. If you only have tap water, run a monthly descale cycle with white vinegar.

How do I install the replacement humidifier?

Unplug the chamber, open the reservoir compartment, unclip the old humidifier module, and unplug the two-pin connector. Snap the new module in, reconnect the cable, and close the compartment. No tools required, install takes under two minutes.

Will the app recognize the new humidifier?

Yes automatically. The humidifier is a passive module, not a smart device; the chamber's mainboard drives it. Once installed the app resumes normal humidity control without any pairing step.

Is this humidifier compatible with older Lykyn chambers?

Compatible with every Lykyn Smart Mushroom Grow Box chamber shipped from launch onward. The mounting bracket and connector have stayed constant across chamber revisions.
